Vibration monitoring of a coffee production line

Context

Bearings on hot and cold air fans regularly experience mechanical drift, leading to unplanned stoppages. Faced with this problem, our customer expressed the need to instrument this equipment to obtain a precise In-Situ measurement. To ensure optimum responsiveness, operators needed to be alerted to mechanical drifts via a three-color light column, enabling proactive intervention.

DV GROUP solution

  • Process Monitoring based on Siemens CMS1200 technology
  • Definition of measurement points : we identified 16 wired 100mV/g accelometers and 4 rotational speed measurements for precise monitoring.
  • Complete integration : Installation of sensors, pulling of cables, installation of monitoring box and light column
  • Adjustement of alert and alarm levels : Definition of thresholds in collaboration with the customer for optimum responsiveness.
  • Commissioning and testing : Validation that the solution is working properly.
  • Periodic follow-up offer : Contract including an expert report every 3 months.
  • Monthly package, 3-year commitment : Complete, future-proof solution to meet monitoring and maintenance requirements.

Equipment used

  • 4 fans
  • 45kW motors (X 2) / 260kW motors (X2) / 8 bearings

Gains et bénéfices clients

  • Control of equipment wear levels
  • Access to real-time measurements
  • Correlation of vibration levels and equipment rotation speeds : detailed analysis
  • Operator station alerted by light column in case of drift
  • Alert and alarm thresholds set by experts
  • 2 mechanical drifts detected during the year :
  • Periodic reporting : notification of drift on bearings
